Audience Feedback on Advert

For my magazine cover, I have asked various people within my target audience what they think could be done to improve my magazine cover for my next draft. I did this in the form of a close-ended questionnaire. The feedback is below.

Do you believe this poster portrays the genre of a social documentary?

Yes: 8  No: 2

Does the editing help with this?

Yes: 9  No: 1

Do you think amendments should be made?

Yes: 4  No: 6

Should more titles be included?

Yes: 6   No: 4

Would you buy this magazine?

Yes: 7  No: 3

Would you choose to watch the documentary after having seen this cover?

Yes: 9  No: 1

After this, I asked some open-ended questions about the audience's opinions on what could be done in order to make it seem more like a realistic magazine cover, and also what they think could be improved in general. The feedback seemed to be that I should keep the focal image more natural and less edited, and to make it seem more realistic by including things such as a bar-code and price on the cover, as this is something you would see on the front of a conventional everyday magazine cover. I also received feedback that I should use more typography on the front cover. I will take this all into consideration when making the next draft of my magazine cover.
